Rubik’s Cube Explorer An interactive presentation to help you understand the basics of Rubik’s Cube. Have a go experimenting with the different kinds of cubelets—centers, edges, and corners—to see how these simple elements combine to create the beautiful complexity of the cube. While Cube Explorer can be enjoyed in several browsers it is best experienced in the latest version of. Made with friends Hi.
I’m (not the cube). This ’lil demo runs on the Cuber framework that I created whilst at Google Creative Lab. Yup, it’s the very same backbone that powers the as well as the other experiments from. There are about a hundred people to thank for bringing this to fruition and I’ve tried to do that in detail. But first and foremost thank you for inventing the cube itself. And thanks for signing one of my old, scuffed up, and half broken cubes.
Having to solve that thing in front of you so you could sign it was. Terrifying:) Hackable by design Are you familiar with Rubik’s Cube twist notation? Do you like to r-d-R-D six times in a row for fun?
Are you a fan of your browser’s JavaScript console? This is your lucky day. Not only does Cube Explorer respond to twist commands, it lets you get fancy like this: cube.twist( 'rdRD'.multiply( 6 )). Cuber also offers deep inspection of the cube right from the console, complete with colorful ASCII diagrams for browsers that support it: cube.inspect() cube.front.inspect() cube.front.northEast.inspect() cube.front.northWest.up.color.name cube.standing.setOpacity( 0.5 ) cube.corners.setRadius( 90 ) cube.hasColors( ERNO.RED, ERNO.BLUE ).showIds() Have a go. I think you’re going to like it. And ping me at when you’ve written your first solver. Happy cubing, everyone.
I recently picked up 5 speed cubes (MOFANG Shengshou, MoYu AoLong Enhanced, QiYi Thunderclap, D-FantiX YongJun (YJ) GuanLong, and this D-Fantix Cyclone) I expected some to be good and some bad, but when compared to ordinary cubes, they're all very good. If you are an expert, well. You're already going to know what you like and dislike, and will need to try many cubes. I'll describe it below, but you'll need expert opinions. For anyone less than an aspiring expert - especially for those coming from 'ordinary' cubes - this is a perfectly reasonable entry-level choice.
I don't think you'll be sorry for less than $7. This one is heavier than average at 86 grams. It's average in terms of equal rotation resistance across the faces - could use a bit of adjustment.
That rotation resistance is average among these speed cubes. Honestly, I've never completely solved one of these in my own.
I can do one side with no problem, but the whole cube, nope. As I child I ruined one by trying to take all stickers off and stick them back on solved, but they never quite stick again after being pealed. This Rubik's cube turns so much easier than the ones I remember.
Before if it wasn't lined up perfectly, it wouldn't turn. That was so annoying! This Rubik's cube has solved that problem. It has the same bright colors that I always remember them having. The carrying bag is nice, pop the Rubik's cube in it and take it with you to provide another form of 'unplugged ' entertainment for the kids. My kids like to mess it up a little bit and then solve it.
They took it a few turns too far and couldn't solve. This Cube spins very easily but does not feel loose. I definitely agree with it being a speed cube! I haven't had any trouble with a binding up yet after using it and solving it at least two or three times. It is light and spins well, you can even spend it with one hand if you really want to. The big downside I see is that it has a mainly silver color with minor coloring around the outside of each individual square.
I'm no Rubik's Cube expert and neither is my son who I really bought this for. I wish the coloring wasn't mostly silver as I think it would help solving it easier. When I bought it I didn't think it would be a big downfall, but I find myself having to stop and look every once in awhile to figure out which color I'm working on. I remember spending hours as a kid playing with one of these brain teaser cubes. It was a great way to entertain myself, but also keep my brain working hard at problem solving- even though I've never been able to actually solve one. I was super excited to share my childhood fun with my kiddos with this 2 X 2 cube. It arrived quickly and was almost instantly taken over by my 7 year old.

She loved the bright colors ( yellow, white, green, pink, orange and blue) and that it was a problem for her to solve. When it arrives, it's in the solved position with all panels matching.
