The Trade Union of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research is a public non-profit organization that monitors compliance with the existing labour laws. The Union represents and defends the legitimate rights and interests of the Union members to the Employer and in the state and local governmental bodies, judiciary, public associations and other bodies and organizations of the Russian Federation. It studies draft regulations on the matters affecting the interests of the Union members, contributes comments and proposals to the appropriate bodies, seeks the abolition of regulations that infringe upon the legitimate rights of the Union members. The Union proposes measures on the social protection of the employees that become redundant as a result of reorganisation or downsizing, monitors employment and compliance with the current legislation in the field of employment. It participates in the settlement of collective labour disputes concerning the establishment and modifications in the employment conditions (including salary), conclusion, modification and implementation of the Trade Union collective agreement, agreements on social and labour issues. It notifies the Director on the reasoned opinion of the Union on the establishment of the wage system, labour standards, forms of material incentive, size of wage rates (salaries) and seeks to fix the above-mentioned in the collective agreement. The Union participates in negotiations with JINR Directorate, concludes the collective agreement, oversees its implementation, and provides fulfillment of its obligations.

It participates in the negotiations and conclusion of a city tripartite agreement among the Administration of the city, trade unions and employers.

• Educational status: • you will be a university student: you have completed at least two years successfully and are enrolled in your third year or • you will have obtained your highest degree less than a year ago • Languages: you will have proficiency in one of the two official NATO languages (English and French), and a working knowledge of the other will be considered as an asset. Knowledge of other languages will be an advantage as specified in the internship description.
